Heat Transfer Fluid Additive Packages

WEBA Technology has developed additive packages for making glycol/water type heat transfer fluids that can be used in light-duty heating and air conditioning systems, heavy-duty compressor engine cooling systems, all-aluminum systems and chemical processing heat exchangers. All the WEBA Technology. METALGUARD “H” series heat transfer fluid additive packages blend readily with glycol and provide the necessary corrosion prevention. The WEBA Technology line of heat transfer fluid additive packages can be used with either ethylene or propylene glycol and either virgin or reclaimed glycols.

These inhibitor/additives are mixed at the appropriate treat rates given in the product bulletins to make heat transfer fluids for various markets and applications. METALGUARD H80 is the newest in the line specifically designed for all-aluminum systems with the corresponding unique inhibitor package and lower pH to protect the aluminum system. The standard HVAC Heat Transfer Fluid additive package (METALGUARD H50) and the Food Grade additive package (METALGUARD H60) are primarily used in building heating and air conditioning systems. The METALGUARD H60 additive package is made with food grade ingredients and is acceptable for use in food storage, refrigeration, and freezing applications. The products made with these additive systems are equivalent to Dowfrost and Dowtherm (Dow) and to Ucarfreeze and Ucartherm (Union Carbide). The WEBA Technology heat transfer fluid additive formulations allow you to blend heat transfer fluid mixtures at significant savings.

Inhibitors are available in standard packaging including 55 gallon / 208 liter drums; 275 gallon / 1041 liter totes and bulk tank truck. METALGUARD H50 is a light-to-heavy duty heat transfer fluid additive package, which allows the blender to make products equivalent to Dowfrost, Dowtherm SR-1, Ucartherms, Jeffcools and Intercools. Fluids made with METALGUARD H50 are most often used in heating and air conditioning systems for office buildings, apartment buildings, office complexes, schools, hospitals, etc. Use rate is 4% for light-duty use and up to 8% for heavy-duty use by volume. Dye available to be added to finished fluid.
METALGUARD H60  is a food grade additive package for making food grade propylene glycol based heat transfer fluids equivalent to Dowfrost. These fluids are most often used in food processing, packaging and storage facilities such as dairies, breweries, soft drink plants, cheese plants, meat processing plants, etc. Use rate is 4% by volume. Product not usually dyed, but dye is available to be added to finished fluid.
METALGUARD H80 is a phosphate free, light-to-heavy duty heat transfer fluid additive package which is unique in its formulation. It protects all metals found within a system, however it is specifically designed for all aluminum systems. Heat transfer fluids made with METALGUARD H80 can be used in any heating/cooling system but it is the best choice for high-aluminum-content systems operating above 150°F (65°C). Use rate is 4% by volume. Dye available to be added to finished fluid.
